Introducing: The Redland

I first became familiar with The Redlandwhen I met their manager at a photoshoot for another artist. His introduction to me about the group was, “They’re ATL based, but they aren’t none of that jerkin ish. They’re rappin about some real shit!” Me being one always down to listen to some thought provoking ish I was open and willing to hear more. After I was able to take a listen to the group in the comfort of my own space, I was able to really appreciate the lyrical content and sound from these guys. Especially on their track “Don’t Know What It Means,” where they sample the 90s grunge classic by Nirvana, ultimately showcasing their versatility as artists. The Redland is made up of Earvin Legend and Kose, two former Morehouse College students originally from the Redlands of Louisiana and Oklahoma. Take a listen and as I always say, let that shit marinate and enjoy!

With an acute appreciation of the intellectual messages behind the imperial musical innovators and revolutionaries from years gone by. The Redland transverse through hip-hop boundaries so that on any given song people from all walks of life can identify with the content.
