Now that we have our “Taste” category up and running. We can now give you our personal reviews on the places we frequent for good eats. I happen to stumble on Agave about a year ago, when searching for a new local spot to dine. After reading personal reviews online, I decided to make it a family outing to test out their menu. Our server was pleasant, and the atmosphere was live and very welcoming. Traditional meets Modern/Contemporary cuisine. No need for reservations and walk-ins are always welcome. Of course, family style is the only way to go, so we all ordered one main entree dish each, which in my opinion are very generous portions. Even their kids’ menu, which is A+!
Now, I like to judge restaurants by the appetizers they provide their guests. Assorted breads, salted edamame, chips & dips, what have you – it has to be on point. Agave presented us with three various tortilla chips with three various salsas – for us that was more than enough to get us started! I ordered their famous Shrimp and Crab Stacked Enchiladas, a delicious blend of dungeness crab meat, with Mexican white shrimp, sweet corn-guajillo chile enchilada sauce and micro-greens. This was heaven in my mouth! The serving size was bigger than expected, leaving half the enchilada for leftovers (personally, it’s better off you eat it in the same day). The prices was reasonable if you’re looking to spend a little more than your local Alberto’s down the way, but I assure you, it’s worth every penny! Servers were attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking to have an occasional night out with the family, or just a quick bites with your friends.
