Do you remember the Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse graffitti collection from 2001?? Well the collaboration is being revisited by LV and Marc Jacobs (LV’s creative director) to pay homage to the late Sprouse with a limited edition collection of accessories and ready-to-wear — bags, sneakers, pumps, sunglasses, head/wrist bands, leggings, and dresses to be exact (ohmygah I need to start saving ASAP!). The collection is said to use graffiti and the rose — both infamous Sprouse themes — in Day-Glo shades of pink, orange, and green. Sprouse, whose Day-Glo and graffitti print motifs were a huge staple in 1980s fashion, passed away in 2004 and to pay further homage to the designer, a special website has been created. Welovesprouse.com will go live on December 15th and is said to include a slew of interviews from people that knew him, including Debbie Harry.

“I proposed putting together a Vuitton version of the Pop Shop, which was Keith Haring’s concept…not reissuing products that we had done with Stephen, but doing things that were similar or new. I tried to take what Stephen had done at Vuitton and then kind of flip it in my head, and make it Vuitton’s work for Stephen, not Stephen’s work for Vuitton.” – Marc Jacobs, Source: WWD

The collection will be available world wide on January 9, 2009. If you are not being affected by the recession, please note that I wear a size 5.5 in men’s shoes, and love the LV x Sprouse kicks. I’m just sayin!
