In an effort to put a spin on the iconic ‘Skinny’ dunks, Nike Sportswear linked up with French textile designer Paule Marrot Editions to release various color and prints for Nike’s Summer 2009 collection. Marrot designs each shoe with the ‘Les Cerises’ print draped two colorways in all-over prints of cherries. ‘Les Cerises’ is adapted from the original Paule Marrot design – Bigareaux – and is inspired by the cherries sitting in front of her when she met her husband-to-be. How sweet is that?! Printed sneakers have come a long way from tacky to classy and makes a bold statement with just a simple pattern or color. I will admit that my sneaker collection has gone down hill after high school but that will soon change. The Paule Marrot versions of the Nike ‘Skinny Dunk Hi’ will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers.
